Terms & Conditions
Last updated: March 2025
These Terms and Conditions govern the use of the Tickwright website at tickw.club and the watch repair and diagnostic services we provide at our workshop in Petaling Jaya. By using this website or engaging our services, you agree to these terms in full. If you do not agree, please refrain from using the site or submitting a service request.
1. Service Engagement
All services are initiated only after direct communication between the client and our workshop. Submitting an enquiry via the website contact form does not constitute a service booking and does not create any contractual obligation on either party. A service engagement begins when both parties have agreed in writing — by email or via a signed intake form — on the scope of work and the applicable fee.
We do not commence repair work without prior written agreement from the piece's owner. Where an assessment reveals findings that differ materially from the initial scope, we will pause and seek fresh written approval before proceeding.
2. Intake and Custody
When a timepiece is accepted for service at our workshop, we issue a written intake record documenting the condition, visible markings, and agreed scope of work. The client is asked to review and confirm this record before leaving the piece in our care.
We exercise reasonable care in the handling, storage, and transportation of timepieces entrusted to us. Our premises are secured and access is restricted to workshop personnel. We strongly recommend that clients arrange appropriate personal property insurance for high-value pieces, as our liability is limited as described in Clause 7 below.
3. Fees and Payment
Fees are quoted in Malaysian Ringgit (RM) and are inclusive of labour and consumables as specified in the service description. Parts and replacement components are itemised separately where applicable. A written quotation is provided before work commences, and the final invoice will not exceed the agreed quotation without the client's prior written approval.
Payment is due upon collection of the timepiece. We accept cash and bank transfer. Payment by other methods may be arranged by prior agreement. We reserve the right to retain a completed piece until the outstanding balance is settled in full.
4. Turnaround Times
Estimated completion timelines are communicated at intake and are provided in good faith based on the observed condition and current workshop schedule. These estimates are not binding commitments. Delays may arise from parts availability, the discovery of additional concerns during disassembly, or workshop workload. We will notify clients promptly of any material change to the expected timeline.
5. Uncollected Pieces
Clients are asked to collect their timepieces within thirty days of notification that the work is complete. Where a piece remains uncollected beyond ninety days from that notification, despite reasonable attempts to contact the client, we reserve the right to assess storage costs or, in extreme cases, to apply any outstanding balance against the piece in accordance with applicable Malaysian law. We will make documented efforts to contact the client before taking any such steps.
6. Diagnostic Reports and Written Summaries
Where a diagnostic report or written service summary is provided, it reflects the condition and findings observed at the time of inspection. It does not constitute a statement about the future performance of the timepiece, nor does it imply any ongoing obligation on our part beyond the scope of the agreed service.
Reports are prepared for the sole use of the client. They may not be reproduced, shared with third parties, or used for insurance or legal purposes without our prior written consent.
7. Limitation of Liability
Our liability for any loss, damage, or defect arising from the services we provide is limited to the fee paid for the relevant service. We are not liable for pre-existing faults not identified at intake, for damage resulting from normal wear or the inherent fragility of aged components, or for any consequential, indirect, or economic loss.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
8. Warranty on Completed Work
We stand behind the quality of our workmanship. Where a fault arises directly from work performed by us, we will investigate and address it at no additional charge, provided the piece is returned to us within ninety days of collection and has not been subject to further handling, modification, or damage by another party.
This undertaking applies to the specific work performed and does not extend to other components of the timepiece, nor to faults caused by misuse, water ingress beyond tested parameters, or impact damage after collection.
9. Intellectual Property
All text, images, design elements, and content on this website are owned by or licensed to Tickwright. You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute any part of this website without our prior written permission, except as permitted by applicable law for personal, non-commercial use.
10. Website Use

11. Governing Law
